Sport Clips Supports Childhood Cancer Research

Sport Clips Donates to help Fund Childhood Cancer Research

Sport Clips recently announced a $1 million donation to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants, over the next three years. This is the third million-dollar commitment Sport Clips has made to St. Baldrick’s since the partnership began in 2016. Through both financial contributions and supporting St. Baldrick’s shave events with stylist volunteers, the brand commits itself to providing critical funding and support to advance promising childhood cancer research.

“Through our Haircuts With Heart program, we believe in creating opportunities for Sport Clips team members to give back,” says Edward Logan, Sport Clips president and CEO. “So many talented Sport Clips stylists and franchisees volunteer their time in local communities to support St. Baldrick’s head-shaving events to help the cause of funding childhood cancer research at the local level. We are proud to continue our support of St. Baldrick’s and the efforts and the work of the foundation.”

Sport Clips, A Franchise That Gives Back

Sport Clips has a long and storied history in supporting important causes and charities, with a specific focus on veteran causes. Philanthropy is one of the foundational core practices implemented when the brand was created in 1993. Since 2013, Sport Clips has contributed $10 million to fund more than 2,200 scholarships through the VFW’s “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship” program. Sport Clips is the primary sponsor of Dream Flights, which provides flights to senior veterans in a Boeing Stearman biplane.

Through the Gratitude Initiative, Sport Clips helps the organization provide educational support and college scholarships to children of military service members, veterans, disabled veterans and those killed in defense of our country. Sport Clips also partners with the Aleethia Foundation, which provides assistance to injured service members and their caregivers, and regularly donates to other veteran organizatiosn including Honor Flight Network (Austin) and VetFran. In addition to veteran causes, Sport Clips has awarded more than $50,000 in scholarships to promote quality cosmetology education among candidates who don’t necessarily have the funds to advance their hair care careers.

Sport Clips has built a reputation on fostering a family-like environment, and that starts with looking outside profits and margins, and giving back to communities. Helping friends and neighbors is a top priority for this company, and Sport Clips backs up that commitment at every opportunity.
